Sales Tax, VAT & GST Compliance in the United Kingdom
We keep you compliant as you cross state lines and borders, before it becomes a problem. Delivered to FRS 102 / UK GAAP for UK businesses, priced in GBP.
UK VAT looks simple until the edges arrive: partial exemption, the reverse charge in construction, place-of-supply on digital services, and a registration test that looks forward as well as back. Most of the penalties we see are not caused by bad arithmetic — they are caused by finding out too late that registration was already required.
Registration becomes compulsory once taxable turnover passes £90,000 in any rolling twelve-month window, and also the moment you expect to pass it within the next thirty days. Returns are quarterly under Making Tax Digital, due one month and seven days after the period ends, and HMRC's points-based regime charges per missed return rather than by value.
The deadlines we track against your ledger.

Last reviewed against the source . These are the standard dates. Extensions through a registered agent, a non-calendar year end, and volume-based filing frequencies all shift them — confirm your own dates with HMRC. This is general information, not tax advice.

Xero
The return is generated from Xero rather than reconciled to it, so the MTD digital link is intact end to end. Where partial exemption or a special method applies, the calculation is documented as a workpaper attached to the period, not carried in someone's head.
